Teaching from experience

I know how difficult it can be to do self -study at home. As an experienced language teacher, and one who has passed all three of these tests, I can identify students' problem areas and work with them in positive, constructive ways to achieve success.

Test prep for N5, N4, and N3

in 2004 I moved to Japan to teach English. I had been studying Japanese on my own for 2 years prior to that but when

I arrived, I realized how different spoken Japanese is to what is written in the textbooks. Over the next 10 years, I I gained more and more confidence in speaking to the locals and I studied Japanese characters in earnest. That's when the language really opened up for me. I could understand why Japanese say things like "The top of the queue" instead of the "front" it was due to the writing system being from top to bottom! I studied for the N4 and passed, and then for the N3 and passed that as well. Currently I'm studying to pass the N2 which is the lowest level needed to get a full time employment with a Japanese company.

With over twelve years teaching experience and my knowledge of what it's like to be a student of Japanese, I am well qualified to guide students on their journey of learning the Japanese Language!

To learn a language effectively, you must use it as much as possible. That's why I call these semi-imersive classes" where students use Japanese right from the start! Students will do engaging interactive tasks to allow them to practice the language in a natural way. Each student learns at his or her own pace. The most important part is to practice.

I studied at Wakaru 4 years ago and I still remember the 5 sentences I learned, even though I haven't spoken Japanese since !

Studying on your own is hard. At Wakaru, I had a teacher who could answer my questions and help me with my pronounciation.
